A resent e-mail addressed to our GENA website concerned the street litter courtesy of our Florida State Lottery. This is a problem brought up at numerous meetings.
When a lottery ticket is not a winner, some buyers of such dispose of them by throwing them out the car window.
The only answer I can think of (besides enforcement of the litter laws) is for the State to make the tickets biodegradable, say disintegrating in two days or one day if rained upon. After all, if a ticket is a winner it should be protected.
I don?’t want to give the impression that it?’s OK to trash our streets even just one day, but a ticket should be made to last but a short time in the outside environment.
Perhaps the cure is to contact our State Representatives for this change.
