HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL G.H.A.N.A. NEIGHBORS 2003

Year 2002 has been a busy one for our neighborhood and your Association leaders. We scrambled to stay apprised of all the construction on Belfort Road; the drainage problems we could anticipate in the Pottsburg watershed; the increased traffic burden on Hogan Road; the impact of the siting of a Walmart superstore and a major shopping center at Touchton Road.

We acknowledge the fact that we were regarded as intruders when it came to various agencies connected with planning and permitting the agressive growth of our area sharing with us in a timely manner. It was and is still the case that developers plan several years in advance of their designs for property uses, and the City is the "twelth man" on the team. The residents of the area are left at the ticket office figuring out how much their cost will be.

There is no discouragement on our part, however. We will carry forward through the coming year the unfinished business of fighting to protect and preserve our ever-shrinking pristine and evermore precious and unique "Best Place To Live In Jacksonville."

We ARE Better Jacksonville. Let us ALL resolve to do our part to keep G.H.A.N.A. that way!
