If you ever wanted to be a Police Officer or are simply curious about the profession, a free course is available.
The Florida Regional Community Policing Institute, together with the St. Petersburg Police Department is offering the course starting March 14.
The Citizens Policing Academy is taking applications. Over eight weeks, 30 students will learn how officers make decisions, how canine units work and how homicide teams do their jobs.
Classes meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays at St Petersburg College's Allstate Center, 3200 34th Street South (US 19).
