Nestled in the Maximo Mall Plaza you will find: Ace Hardware, Old fashion service and Cotterpin ?“The Cat?”.
John and Barbara Klinowski and their daughter Jennifer have been in the hardware business for eight years. Their venture started at the Skyway Plaza next to Kash-N-Karry as True Value Hardware. Four years later, when the lease was up, they relocated to the Maximo Mall behind McDonalds. John Klinowski says that since the move, it has been busier because of the exposure that 34th Street South brings.
The foundation of Ace Hardware is built on ?“Old Fashion Service?”. Upon entering the store you might be greeted by your first name or perhaps by a cat. You will find that, like no where else, you will be professionally and personally assisted with your home improvement purchases. With Ace?’s complete hardware and garden center and competitive prices, you will find nearly anything you need with the service you deserve.
If ?“Old Fashion Service?” is Ace?’s foundation, then Cotterpin ?“The Cat?” is its Spirit. Cotterpin is a 10 year old female cat that came along with the purchase of the store. Jennifer Klinowski says that customers come in asking for her all the time. Cotterpin is not only considered part of the Klinowski family, but part of Ace?’s staff as well. No where is this more evident than when she sits on the counter carefully watching that every customer is happy with their PUUURchases.
