A bas-relief of Andrew Owens Holmes
can now be seen at Holmes Park.The plaque recognizes and honors Judge Andrew Holmes, for whom the park is named. It is a pedestal-mounted bas-relief plaque of Judge Holmes, made by Memphis Ornamental Metal Museum Foundation, Inc. Art work was by Clay Enoch. The plaque was donated by Judge Holmes' daughters, Jo Holmes Walt of Memphis and Mayo Holmes Voss of Franklin, Tennessee, their children and grandchildren.
Memphis Park Commission and Greentrees Civic Association representatives were present for the unveiling ceremony. Guy Treece, Greentrees President Bill Phillips, Andrew Holmes Walt, Jo Holmes Walt and John D. Walt spoke briefly about Judge Holmes' extraordinary life. Mrs. Walt offered her thanks to the Park Service, Guy Treece, and all who helped make Holmes Park a reality.
Holmes Park was officially dedicated on October 24, 1999.
