April 15, 2005 Dear Friends, The NCA is pleased to announce that our
next meeting, Wednesday, May 18, 2005, 7:00PM at the Holiday Inn, Howell
Mill and I-75 will feature a round table of some of the best reporters
Atlanta has to offer. These invited journalists do a superb job in
covering neighborhoods, development and smart growth. We are pleased to
have John Schaffner, reporter and editor of "The Story" newspaper ,
David Pendered, distinguished reporter at the Atlanta Journal
Constitution and Michael Wall, well informed and provocative reporter
from the Creative Loafing newspaper participating on our panel. All
have agreed to entertain questions after initial remarks. In the past we
have heard from neighborhoods, politicians, developers and
representatives from some of our institutions of higher learning. We
felt that it would be instructive to hear from people who cover, on a
daily basis, the issues of importance to the NCA. We want to take this
time to thank Catherine Ross, former CEO of GRTA and current holder of
the Harry West Chair in the School of Architecture at Georgia Tech for a
great meeting in April. Dr. Ross was very informative and particularly
open in her response to some terrific questions from the NCA audience.
Dr. Ross did not take a pass on any of those tough questions. With
