When a neighborhood, or any non-profit organization, is self-governed it solely relies on members to volunteer their time. For some time now the Groves of Gilbert has experienced a severe lack of volunteerism from it?’s community. Many members have mentioned that this is not the high quality neighborhood they moved into several years ago. Lack of volunteers was the sole reason there was no Spring Block Party this year.
Over the next three months, the Board of Directors and other interested parties will be reviewing data collected on a final three management companies. Our goal will be to make a final decision on whether or not to hire a management company and, if so, which one. The decision will be made on or before the date of the October Annual Meeting.
I want to take this opportunity to encourage any person(s) interested in this decision to contact me by phone (545.5880) and attend the upcoming meetings ?– the first of which will be Thursday, June 10, 1999, 7:00 p.m. at my home, 198 N. Riata Street.
If the decision is made to hire the services of a management company it will still be necessary to have a Board of Directors and I would like to encourage each and every one of you to consider your schedule and commitment to our community and evaluate if you can contribute as a board member for the next year.
