Meeting Minutes October 18, 2011

Treasurers report:

Read, everything accounted for.

B. Jones recognized for putting the National Night Out display together, along with other
projects completed and mentioned in the military Tailspinner newspaper.

Prize drawing will be different for the next National Night Out (must be 17+, and a Heritage resident). Handouts and other helpful information will be bagged for children, who are accompanied by an adult. Young adults were entertaining with their variety of dance and moves.

Those at this meeting were informed there was only 4 spaces left for the yard sale for Saturday, October 22nd. Volunteers will have a master sheet indicating where those spaces are, and who it belongs to.

Lisa Gagnon was given a ‘star’ award for her work as secretary of HNA for four years. D. Dorsey was introduced as her replacement.

A plaque will be place at the pool to honor Nancy Engelbert (former HNA president).

To help increase membership, those attending the yard sale on Saturday, October 22nd

will be informed of the ’membership sale’ of ten dollars (valid until October 31st). This is for ’new’ members only.

Guest speaker:

Robert Villarreal, from Bexarmet, introduced other staff members and Engineering Dept.
Slides show regarding the following and brief synopsis.
History and Completed projects throughout the city of San Antonio.
Spoke about projects that are currently in the works.

Partnerships with Bexar Met (Hill Country Village, Castle Hills, Hollywood Park).

Award regarding outstanding drinking water.
Finances
Those who were elected to the Board Asked that we give Bexar Met feedback regarding our concerns.

Varieties of questions were asked regarding Bexar Met?
Discrepancies regarding Bexar Met?
Type of systems being used and how long will it remain self-sustaining?
Does Stone Oak have more water than this area of San Antonio?
What does the 2.5% on bill mean?
Is Bexar Met abusing water?
How does Bexar Met justify having two different staffs to run the system?
What’s an ‘improvement fee’?
What’s in the future for bringing down the rates?

Guadalupe Lopez spoke more on the history of Bexar Met, numerous discrepancies
which were resolved, and a new general manager.
