Irrigation update 7/3/07

Update from Brickman

I thought I’d send you an update concerning the irrigation. Dave and the guys have been out there for several days now. As I worried might be the case, they have found significant damage to the system from Ryland’s final phase of construction. I do not have the complete list at this point, but I have instructed Dave to compile an exhaustive list of the damages he finds as well as the cause and corrective actions necessary to repair.

I do know that all control lines were severed on the control box located at the gazebo, which accounts for half of the system not functioning. There were also several lateral breaks due to construction. Also, there is a major break located right next to one of the residences. Using imaging equipment the guys located the break almost 8 feet down and will need to utilize a backhoe to clear the area in order to fix the break. Dave also mentioned several broken head assemblies. Ryland has made a significant mess of the system again.

In the past, when we have billed Ryland, we have not received payment. We will be billing Amity for the entire amount of the repair and trust Judi to pursue Ryland for that payment. I don’t know if she’ll have any better luck than us, but I certainly hope so.

I’m sorry for your sake that things are such a mess. Dave will be able to get it all fixed though and expects to be finished this week.
