Frequently Asked Questions
· What are the fencing restrictions? Generally, fences must be made of wood. They must be between 4’ and 6’ in height. Fences may not extend beyond the rear corners of the house. Front yard fences are not permitted. (See: Article 7.12)
· What are the mailbox standards? Mailboxes must be mounted on 4”x4” cedar posts. Mailboxes must be a standard black rural mailbox. Posts may be painted white. (See: Article 7.20)
· What are the sign restrictions? One for sale sign, not exceeding 3’x3’ is permitted. Political signs are permitted, but must be removed within 15 days of the election, and may not be posted earlier than 90 days prior to the election. (See: Article 7.04).
· What is the satellite dish, antennae, or solar collector restriction? Solar collectors are not permitted, unless approved by the Committee. Dishes must be one meter or less in diameter, and must be affixed to the rear roof or in the rear yard. The ACC retains the right to approve or disapprove the final location of any satellite or antennae. (See Article 7.15)
· What are the basketball goal restrictions? No permanent basketball goal may be erected without Committee approval. No basketball is to be played after 9:30 P.M. (See: Article 7.25)
· What are the standards if I want to put in a pool? Above ground pools are not permitted. In ground pools may be installed with prior written consent of the Committee. (See: Article 7.20)
· What are the restrictions on me putting up a utility building? Putting up a utility building or shed must have prior consent of the Committee. No more than one building per lot. No more than one story in height. The building may not be larger than 10% of the floor area of the main home. The building must be “compatible with the dwelling to which it is appurtenant in terms of its design and material composition”. (See: Article 7.11)
· What restrictions are there on children’s play sets? There are no restrictions upon children’s swing sets or play sets. They should be kept in good working order.
· Do I have to keep my gas lamp lit? There are no current standards explicitly requiring that gas lamps remain lit. However, the Committee is empowered to publish and modify standards. Based upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee, gas lamps are not currently required to be lit, but it is encouraged that they remain lit.
· Where may I park my trailer, camper, boat, or recreational vehicle? No boat, trailer, recreational vehicle, camper, etc., may be parked in your driveway or side yard. You may keep any of these items fully enclosed inside your garage. You may also keep any of these items behind your fenced in back yard. (See: Article 7.05). A carport may be constructed adjacent to the garage, with the prior written consent of the ACC, to store such items.
· What are the pet restrictions? No livestock or poultry may be kept, raised or bred on any Lot. No more than three (3) adult animals may be kept on a single Lot, except for newborn offspring of such household pets which are under nine (9) months of age. (See: Article 7.06)
