Homer Crimewatch got off to a good start in 2006, with about 50 people attending the first meeting, which was held January 24th, at Bald Hill Baptist Church. The speaker for the evening was Duane Freeman, the Lufkin City Fire Marshall. Mr. Freeman spoke about home fire safety and prevention, and answered several questions from the audience.
Other notable guests were members of the Fuller Springs Volunteer Fire Dept. Bobby Cranford, Asst. Fire Chief, brought out the big red fire truck for all to see. Also in attendance ?– Jim Casper, and Joey Davidson from the ACSO, and Louise Marshall, who also works for the SO, who graciously prepared the call log information for our area.
The Crimewatch gained 15 new members at this meeting.
