Parking Etiquette Reminders

It's Party Time and the Air is Full of Holiday Cheer!

Many people host parties and have many cars parked in their neighborhoods this time of year. Here are a few parking etiquette reminders:
- Park at least 5 ft. from a driveway. Do not block it.
- Park at least 20 ft. from a crosswalk, marked or unmarked.
- Do not park in an area with a “No Parking” sign. These areas are zoned for your safety.
- When parallel parking, do not park facing traffic.
- Do not obstruct traffic by parking in a bicycle lane, an alley or in any lane of traffic.
- Do not park on a sidewalk or planting strip.
- Do not park a vehicle “for sale” on the street.
- Do not repair a vehicle on the street unless it is an emergency.

Complaints about violations?

To report parking violations: Call the PARKING COMPLAINT HOTLINE at 619-1284. For emergencies or weekends, holidays, and after 5 PM, on weekdays, call 911. If a violation is not considered a threat to public health or safety, it will not be treated as an emergency. The fine is $20.00.
