"The Call to Unity"
November 22, 2015
To All Pastors, Priest, and Clergy in the Churches of Metro Louisville:
I beseech thee my brethren, by the mercies of God, that we walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. Ephesians 4
This is a call to unity, to become one voice in a community-wide worship through song. Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 11:45 a.m. has been designated as the time for all congregations to assemble in front of or on the grounds of all of our church lots and at 12:00 p.m. we lift our voices and sing ??œAmazing Grace.??? Imagine the beauty and impact of hearing praise unto God all over the community and all on one accord. This is the first of many steps together to cross the barriers of religions and denominations that separate us and unite as one body to heighten a God consciousness, to express love for God and one another, and to promote peace, harmony, and understanding through out our communities.
Some may say that this is a great undertaking. Our God has promised us that his yoke is easy and his burdens are light. So there is nothing difficult about what we will be doing. Will you join us? Will you take 20 minutes out of your day and sing a praise unto God in hope that he will heal our land. The vision is bigger than us, and that??™s why we are writing it down. Together, ??œWe can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.??? Philippians 4:13
The next step will be to establish a media campaign. We will have billboards in targeted areas of our city where crime is high, depicting love and peace. This part of the campaign will be called ??œCount Down to No More Murders in 2016.??? For this activity we are asking each church to contribute $100. We will give an account for every dollar raised. Ideas and suggestions are welcome. If you would like to have a representative from your church to participate in the planning of these upcoming events, please let us know. Your immediate response, along with your email address is appreciated. Time is of the essence. Please make checks or money orders payable to Count Down to No More Murders in 2016, c/o LAMP Life Centered Ministries, P.O. Box 35504, Louisville, Kentucky 40232.
Sincerely,
