CURB AND SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT
The curbs and sidewalks between McCready and
Cannons Lane are the next scheduled replacements for this calendar year. These curbs are in very bad
repair and are considered a hazard for the school children and other walkers.
As you may have noted, some of the sidewalks that have been replaced in the last couple of years are already starting to deteriorate. We met with Alderwoman Tina Ward-Pugh and have discussed this issue with the city as well. Core samples are being sent off to determine the cause of this deterioration as well as what remedies can be taken to correct the problem and eliminate this from happening in the future. The funds spent on the curbs and sidewalks is money allotted to your neighborhood for these improvements and we feel we need to stay on top of this problem.

BAPTIST SEMINARY EXPANSION
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary is planning 2 projects. The first one on the South Side of Grinstead involves demolishing 5 currently SBTS owned homes and constructing 70 ?“cottage style?” units to house SBTS students, faculty & staff with construction beginning in July. The units are to be 27' tall & set back 25?’ from Grinstead Dr.. Access will be from Seminary Dr. and Grinstead Dr.. This project does not need approval from Planning and Zoning.
The 2nd project is on the North side of Grinstead and involves 34 upscale, loft housing units with 17 on each floor, post modern styling with lots of brick, stucco & glass. SBTS owns the property and is selling to Larry Leis & Rick Kramer. Louis & Henry Group Architects are managing both projects.
