Do You Notice The Beauty? by Debi Walter
Tom and I spent the month of October in the mountains of North Georgia in order to allow me to watch the fall leaves change, something I, a native of Florida, had never experienced. It was incredible to watch the change take place over 30 days, and we appreciated it because we were watching for it. Yet there were many residents of the small town who went about life as normal and hardly noticed the beauty surrounding them.
How often do we miss changes or don’t appreciate them simply because we don’t take notice of them?
Most everyone in our neighborhood has most likely noticed the changes that have recently taken place at Ken Stoll’s former house--you know, the one at the front entrance that looked like a scene from a Halloween horror flick? We noticed because the changes were for the good and oh, so obvious.
But many times we don’t notice changes, even the good ones, because they’re small and easy to miss. We can fail to appreciate how good a neighbor is to us simply because they do everything right like: put the trash cans back promptly where they belong, avoid playing loud music late at night, pick up their dog’s poop while passing by your home. What a blessing it is to have such neighbors who care enough to do the right things on a regular basis.
Sadly, many of us are wired to only notice what’s wrong.
This is human nature to see the problems and want to focus on them without regard for all the things that are right. Our political system is a perfect example of this human tendency. It is against our natural bent to be grateful and appreciative of the good and not overly critical of the bad.
What’s the point?
It’s simply for us to pause over the next 30 days and notice everything that is right in our family, our neighborhood and our country. Seasons come and bring changes like the colorful fall leaves. It is beautiful to behold, but we’ll miss it if we’re not paying attention. Let your family and neighbors know how much your appreciate the little things they do and watch the effect your encouragement will have on them. I believe you’ll witness a beautiful transformation in your relationships, which will cause others to take notice and do likewise.
Kindness begets kindness, and gratefulness precedes joy.

Wow, November! It seems strange to even say the word, but its here! As such, this will be the last time that I write to you.
It has been a great year here at Lake Bosse Oaks. Many of our neighbors volunteered throughout the year; for a small community, we have a busy calendar. I am always grateful to all who helped making sure that our events go on without a hitch, thank you.
Starting next week, Saturday November 10th, the Association will be holding the LBOHOA Annual Meeting at the lakefront. The meeting starts at 10:00 am where we will vote on the 2013 Board and Budget. As the meeting ends, we will roll right into The Fall Festival. It’s great fun!
In December, we will also host the Holiday Celebration, December 23rd. Again, it’s a night to set aside from our busy schedules to relax with some neighbors, and show your holiday spirit.
You can find all of the details about our upcoming events here in the newsletter.
Don’t forget, your VOTE is important, not only to our country, but to Lake Bosse Oaks too; if you cannot attend the Annual Meeting in person, please use the “proxy ballet” that you received in the mail. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact any one of the Board members.
These last 2 months will be busy as we near the holidays, but I am hopeful that you will be able to enjoy some time, here in our neighborhood. I look forward to seeing you soon!

In order to keep a safe neighborhood, and alert the community of any suspicious activity or burglary, Mike McKee and Kathy Turner need the most up-to-date emails and phone numbers for you.
The emails are kept confidential, and phone numbers can be left off of the maps at your request.
Please take a few minutes to send Mike an email with your name, email addresses if more than 1 person in the home would like updates, and phone numbers even if you assume he already has them.

Dear Neighbors,
The Fall Festival is just a few days away. Let’s attend and give a special thanks to all who served on the 2012 HOA and Architectural Review Board. I personally have enjoyed collaborating with a great team of neighbors, value the friendships I have made, and await for the opportunity to volunteer next year!
Lake Bosse Oaks continues to look beautiful and we will keep making the necessary efforts to “help our neighborhood Shine!” Sometimes the process can take longer than we would like but progress is consistently achieved. This year our entrance island received a wonderful makeover. The spot lights that brighten our entrance was made possible by our neighbor Dan Birket and board members who lent a hand to install the lights. Speaking of lights - Light Up Lake Bosse is quickly approaching J
A little birdie told me that this year one of our neighbors’ will be volunteering in providing the set up of Luminaries along our sidewalks!! More details to come…….
A round of applause to our Treasurer, Gail Byrd for dressing the Marquee in a really fun way. I have certainly enjoyed the festive decorations and so have the children who live among us! And to board and ARB member, Greg Hickok for cleaning the pavers that outline our island and plant beds!
And lastly, Yard of the Month! Which home will it be? You will have to attend the Annual Election to find out J
Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!
Kind Regards on behalf of the ARB,
Jasmine
Leaving your porch light on is a bright idea!
Why? Burglars bypass well-lit homes in favor of darker houses. Lighting also makes it easier to see and report the identities of criminals.
Did you know?
Leaving on a 60-watt porch light every night only costs about $1.75 a month!
