NO NEW TAXES !!

May 29, 1999

Well it is time once again to open that envelope from the Bexar Appraisal District (BAD) and find out if your property value has gone up another 10-25% from last time. We hope you are sitting down when you read the notice because many of us have received a notice that our property has risen 25% or more in value. Unfortunately for most of us this means that our taxes "will go up". While we encourage you to "protest" if you think the increase unjustified we also think you should protest to your councilman and mayor that they reduce the tax rate so you will not have to pay more in new taxes...just as they have promised all along.

While you are at it, why not ask your councilman what other fees are going up (no new taxes) for services that used to be covered by property taxes.
