Yard of the Month

As Homeowners of Laurel Hill (LH), we all have significant investments in our home and property and of course, we want our investments to increase versus decrease in value. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that homeowners work collaboratively to maintain curb appeal in our neighborhood thru well-kept yards.  Our goal is to recognize the efforts of residents who demonstrate a clear desire to maintain or improve their respective properties beyond normal expectations and secondly, to inspire others to do the same.

1. The program will run May thru September.  
2. In order to be eligible, the homeowner must be in good standing with the Homeowners Association.  This means all dues and/or fees must be paid and that you/your property are in compliance with LH's Restrictive Covenants, http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/Laurel_Hill/pages/62699.
3. LH Board of Directors will serve as judges.  Eligible yards will be judged between the 25th and 30th.  The Board will select a winner ($10 gift card).  The winner will be determined and posted by the 2nd of the month or as soon as possible.
4. Judging factors include appearance and maintenance. Only the front yard as viewed from the street will be judged.  Criteria for appearance and maintenance will be based on:

• Plants including trees, shrubs, ground cover and flowers should be of a variety of heights, textures and colors.
• Well-manicured yard.  
• Trees and shrubs must be pruned, trimmed and shaped foliage.  
• Lawns, borders and flowerbeds should be edged, defined and weed-free.
• Roof, trim, siding/brick, windows, doors, walls, walkways, statues, birdbaths, art, furniture and fencing in resale condition, not in need of repair
• Flowers must be living, no plastic, silk or artificial. 

  5. Board Members are ineligible for this contest.  

  6. A homeowner can only be awarded first place once.

  7.The Yard of the Month sign will be placed in the winning yard on or about the 2^nd of the      month and remain until the end of the month.
