Over 80 students from Pat Henry Elementary and the neighborhood showed up on Saturday the 13th of September to participate in a Bicycle Rodeo in the parking lot of the school. Forty-one bicycles were marked for registration, inspected and received minor (and major!) repairs.
The event was led by Khris Kenyon and Jake deBusk with the aid of 9 members of our watch group and 6 members of the Mission Village group. Officers Nooner and Williams helped with an obstacle course and safety talk. Members of the CPA Alumni made photo ID?’s for 81 youngsters.
All of the kids (ages 3 to 45) stopped at 5 stations from registration to refreshments. At the final station their registration forms were entered into a drawing for bicycles and safety equipment for a girl and a boy. The winners were drawn at the September meeting and their prizes were delivered by Jake.
