LEGACY POINTE POA MEETING

LEGACY POINTE POA MEETING
October 14, 2008
7:00 PM
Ozarks Electric Cooperative Bldg.

David Stanton, President, opened the meeting with a welcome to the approximately 22 members present and called attention to the Legacy Pointe website where members can keep up to date on news and events in the community. That website is www.neighborhoodlink.com/fville/lppoa.

David welcomed 3 guests, Craig Honchell, Sara Lewis, and Bernard Sulliban, running for the Ward 4 Alderman position on the Fayetteville City Council.

Motion was made to accept the minutes of the October 16, 2007 POA Meeting as read and seconded by David Gebhart and approved.

Regarding the financial report for Legacy Pointe, David reported that approximately $14, 395.93 is projected to be spent for 2008. (See attached schedule). Hopefully the POA will close the year with approximately $25,709.66 in the bank. A question was asked about opening an interest bearing account and this has already been in discussion by the Board.
It was noted that a bit of the money has been spent on the new irrigation system for the plants and trees in the park and on replacing the letters twice on the sign at the entrance to Legacy Pointe on Greens Chapel. The park along the creek side has been cleaned up also.
A question asked concerning the park being reserved for birthday parties and such was answered that please go to the neighborhood link in order to reserve the park for parties.

The Board needs help on committees; the Grounds Committee and Architectural Committee particularly. It was suggested from the floor that there be a mailing of advance dates when planting, etc. needed to be done. This would give residents a chance to volunteer.

Some of the concerns facing residents of Legacy Pointe were listed as follows: parking issues, fencing issues, property upkeep issues. The Board is doing its best to follow up on complaints from residents concerning these issues and again David stated that the Board needed everyone’s help on this. The Covenants for Legacy Pointe state exactly what is acceptable and what is not. Call the city on points of parking in yards and overgrown yards, etc. because these are also a part of the city code compliance.

There were two open positions on the Board to be voted on. Donna Collins nominated Susan Atchley and Larry Norman seconded the nomination. Susan Atchley nominated Donna Collins and Mary Wyandt-Hiebert seconded. Since there were no other nominations from the floor, John Reeves motioned that these two nominations be accepted by acclamation. Motioned carried.
Board members for 2009 are: Dawn Norman, Kevin Phillips, Marty Reeves, Donna Collins and Susan Atchley.

Long Term Projects: Those discussed included putting a fence or landscaping in at the south end of Rocky Crossing where the storage units are in order to block access, landscaping on the frontage property on Double Springs Rd., the lighting on the storage units that face those resident’s home on Persimmon.

A question asked concerning the addition adjoining Legacy Pointe called Legacy Heights was whether there was going to be a clubhouse and swimming pool put in. Legacy Pointe residents voted not to include that addition into Legacy Pointe and with the economy being what it is now, the questioner was told that more than likely, there will not be anything like that constructed at this time.

Problems the Board contends with to date are collections of fees, new residents not receiving copies of the Covenants from their title companies and adherence to the protective covenants and bill of assurances for Legacy Pointe.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Marty Reeves
Secretary
