Every year, the Lincoln Neighborhood works with Keep Kenosha Beautiful to coordinate a cleanup of Lincoln Park in celebration of Earth Day. Last year, about 30 volunteers of all ages showed up to pick up over 300 pounds of trash, to help drag the lagoon and to mulch trees in the park.
There is always litter in the streets, and the LNCA usually tries to hold a second cleanup during the summer, targeting youth volunteers in the neighborhood. Cleanups have proven to be excellent inter-generational and educational events, and although they are not glamorous, everyone leaves with a great sense of accomplishment.
If you're interested in helping with, or coordinating your own, neighborhood cleanup this year, please feel free to contact us at the e-mail address below for more information.
