Dear Residents,
Three new board members were elected at the last meeting. The HOA president is now Doug Harris, The treasurer is Cora Kinchen, and secretary is Kristin Sthole. We would like to have quarterly meetings to discuss any issues that may come up. At least 10 households need to be present to open voting on any items. Right now, the wooden fence surrounding our community is in disarray and the entrance signs have been vandalized. We have received estimates for both jobs, but they are somewhat costly.
We have received some concerns that the bylaws are not well-fitted for our community. As a community, we can review and modify the bylaws to a reasonable extent. We are requesting that everyone read through their copy and bring any questions or concerns to the next meeting.
Another issue is possibly moving the due date for association dues. Having the due date set immediately following Christmas is unrealistic, especially during these tough economic times. Some suggestion are to send the bills out in April or May, and have them due in June or July. Another alternative is possibly doing monthly billing.
A new website has been established. It is http://neighborhoodlink.com/jacksonville/lcoa. It does not contain much right now, but we will be adding all forms, updates, and newsletters soon. For anyone that has a face book account, Lindsey’s Crossing is now a member. Just search for Lindsey Crossing.
On a lighter note, we will be having our annual Halloween party on October 31st. Come on out in your best costume and meet your neighbors. Also, we will be having a New Year’s eve bash. More details to come.
The next meeting will be held at the Sheffield Elementary cafeteria on November 10th from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.. To get to the school, head east on New Berlin Rd.,through the stop light at Dunn’s Creek Dr. Take the next left on to Lanier Rd. Continue straight on Lanier Rd. for approximately 1 mile and the school will be on the right.
We look forward to seeing you all at the Halloween party and the upcoming meeting.
Sincerely,
The Lindsey’s Crossing HOA
