To the not so nice person that I saw throwing a broom at the sand hill cranes that happened to be walking across her lawn. STOP. Those birds are protected and you are not to molest them in any way.  They have the right to wander and go wherever they please, they do no harm to your property in any way and you have no right shooing them away.  They are a PROTECTED SPECIES, just like the gopher tortoises and you may not feed, scare, catch or anything else.  LEAVE THEM ALONE.  They are not hurting you in any way, please stop swinging and throwing brooms at them.  I have close contacts with FWC and if you continue to do this, you will be reported to the authorities.  

I forgot to mention that when they are in your presence, you should see these beautiful creatures as a privilege, not a nuisance.
