DDRO has also taken some steps to address the issues of
low-flying aircraft over downtown, particularly the banner
planes at the baseball and football games. The rules for
flying over downtown Denver are much less restricted since
DIA opened. Until February 28, 1995, airspace over Denver
was heavily restricted because it fell within the area
controlled by Stapleton.
Representatives from local neighborhood organizations are
meeting with Debbie Ortega to put together some
recommendations for the FAA. It is unlikely they will
respond unless they hear protests from a large number of
residents. Call 1-800-847-3808 to report any concerns about
low flying planes (giving the number on the plane if
possible).
