DDRO Looks for Ways to Cut Noise, Add Volunteers
By Doug Willey, DDRO President
Noise News
As we launch into summer, Downtown Denver Residents Organization (DDRO) is resuming its efforts to control some of the louder noises in downtown. Most recently, Dave
Hannes organized a lunch with concerned motorcyclists to discuss the ongoing problem of motorcycle noise in downtown. The discussion generated good ideas that Dave will
implement.
Volunteer for "Living History!"
Looking for a way to meet your neighbors and get involved downtown?
Volunteer! DDRO is supporting many summer events this year and helping groups like the Greenway Foundation find volunteers. On June 12-13, the foundation will host
its Platte River Rendezvous. This festival celebrates the founding of Denver at the actual site at Centennial Park next to Elitch Gardens and is a family-oriented event
that highlights interactive "living history" with Mountain Men, Native Americans, Pioneers and Denver descendants from the 19th century. Call 303-455-7192, ext. 4 and leave your name, phone number and when you would like to volunteer.
No Garage Garage Sale
It'll be bigger and better than ever! It's the LoDo No Garage Garage Sale...and this year it's on July 10.
The No Garage Garage Sale is like a street festival where vendors are all peddling their wares. Beyond the fun and excitement, there's also food and drink. Volunteer
by calling Terry Maxfield at 303-571-1644.

New Restaurant Guide Serves Up Tourists
It's never been easier to find LoDo restaurants. The new Spring/Summer 1999 Denver Quick Guide presents the OFFICIAL LoDo Restaurant Guide.
Working with the Guest Informant Group of Denver, LDDI presents "a traveler's guide to your best city eatery" and a Lower Downtown District map.
With a circulation of 300,000, Quick Guides are distributed at hotels, malls, tourist centers and attractions throughout Denver. This guide which will be reproduced and redistributed in the Fall works to further LDDI's mission to "market Lower Downtown as a destination for visitors."
For more information about the guide call Dan du Bois at 303-628-5424.
