You have read in this column over the past few months how important I feel involvement is to this organization and the community. As a matter of fact, neither this organization nor the community would be here today if individuals and businesses had not cared enough to get involved. By following their passion for this collection of old brick buildings, these pioneers truly made a difference.
Interestingly enough, we can make just as much, if not more, difference today by following that same passion. It is possible to pinpoint the businesses that have chosen not to get involved with either LDDI or the community. You know how you can tell? They are no longer in business or struggling needlessly. This is sad when you think about it. We need to reach out and embrace those misguided few. Let's work together to bring all those souls into the fold. They will be so happy we took the time to tell them how great Lower Downtown really is.
I love my job!
