Committee Column

May 12, 2000

Members are what make-or break-our organization. Last month, the Membership Committee discussed plans for a Member Get a Member Drive. The drive will begin at the Taste of LoDo where a VIP booth will be located. This booth will give members a place to send prospective members t receive information about LDDI and its membership.
Following that initial meeting, the Membership Committee will follow up with a proposal to join LDDI. If the prospect becomes a member, the member who directed then to the VIP booth will receive the credit for referring them.
The drive will continue until August 27 during the LoDo Fais Do Do where the winner will be announced. At that time, two members will receive a grand prize-one for the most memberships; the other for the most revenue generated through new memberships.
Other committees are also interested I finding members with similar interests and goals. Barbara Gibson is seeking those interested in serving on a Historical Preservation Committee (303-466-9343) while Ron Straka is targeting design professionals for the Urban Design Committee (303-446-9728).
At the March Board of Directors Meeting, 21 Board Members attended and took the following actions: a motion was made and passed to approve the 2000 LDDI Business Plan and Budget; and the Good Neighbor Handbook was approved and will go into the printer in May. The Board also decided to enforce the Good Neighbor policies and support mediation between Rocky Mountain Warehouse Lofts and F-Stop. If mediation fails, the Board will support a show-cause hearing.
