COMMITTEE COLUMN

Oct 18, 2000

You may not have seen all the committees at work last month ?– some of
them can only be found if you sneak into luncheon meetings or behind
closed doors at the EdBrooke Room - but it was easy to find the Events
Committee this September.

According to John Imbergamo, chair of the Events Committee, ?“changes in
LDDI?’s events management structure caused the Events Committee to step
into the void and produce the LoDo Loft Tour Patron Party last month.?”

Next on the Events Committee agenda is the creation of a Request for
Proposal (RFP) for next year?’s LDDI events. The Board of Directors has
asked the Events Committee to solicit bids from Denver event planners
interested in managing the Taste of LoDo, LoDo Fais Do Do and Loft Tour
in 2001. Anyone interested in participating in that process can call
John Imbergamo at (303) 534-0567 for details.

At the September 21 Board of Directors meeting, the Marketing Committee
and Barnhart-CMI presented a Marketing Study that resulted in a
recommended branding strategy for LDDI and LoDo: ?“LoDo is where you
will find the energized heart and soul of Denver.?”

The Board of Directors voted to use the recommended brand for all events
and activities as well as in the continuing development of a Marketing
Plan.

What has your committee been doing? Committees are the backbone of the
Lower Downtown District, Inc. The members who work on these committees
are the ones who shape our organization ?– and our neighborhood. To
