Lydia Estates Interim Homeowners Association (LEHIA)-Historical

From late 1999 through 2002, the residents organized to form an Interim Association. When control was transferred to the residents, the homeowners assumed jurisdiction of the incorporated entity. The Interim Association elected officers, established committees, conducted bimonthly meetings, kept owners informed and implemented a number of projects for the betterment of Lydia Estates. This effort and work, to a large degree, benefited the Incorporated (current) Association after transition. For example, the Interim Association had:
1) Established welcome, communications, maintenance and fundraising committees, as well as the security programs (vehicle decals and neighborhood watch).
2) Coordinated community-wide garage sales, picnics, cleanups and other events.
3) Identified and addressed issues (e.g., new developments) in the area which may have had a negative impact on our property values/quality of life. In these cases, it had coordinated the representation of the community before the city council and other commissions
4) During the transition of the association from the developer to the homeowners, the interim board served as the homeowner's representatives.
