A Neighborhood Watch is simply our residents becoming more proactive in spotting and responding to local crime. Many of our subs have implemented the Neighborhood Watch program to help cut down on the activity. You may have noticed new signs going up to alert would-be criminals. This section of the website is intended as a place where you can keep current on the activity and find out how to help in the effort to reduce the number of incidents in your neighborhood.
Please keep your eyes and ears open. Report any and all suspicious activity to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office immediately. Call dispatch at 469-5502. Please contact a block captain after you file a report so they can let the spokesperson know. If your sub does not participate in the program, please send an e-mail to us here at Macomb Neighbors and we'll make sure the incident gets posted. If you would like to start a Neighborhood Watch for your subdivision, you can contact the Sheriff's Office and they will put you in touch with the officer that is in charge of this area. Together we can make a difference!
Just a reminder that the speed limit on EVERY street in the neighborhood is 25 miles per hour! This includes Howard and Huntington Woods Drive. There are many children and pets in our neighborhood. Let's keep them safe.
In addition, Lt. Donovan tells us that there are many reports of things being stolen out of vehicles that are left unlocked! If you're car is out in the driveway or the street, please make sure it is locked! There have also been reports of items being stolen out of open garages, so you may want to keep them closed as well.
We all like to think that our neighborhood is completely safe but, unfortunately, a few people are ruining that for everyone by taking advantage of our comfort levels. Please just be smart and don't leave yourself vulnerable to these people.
Thank you and be safe.
Please check the Police and Safety area to find the most recent neighborhood watch newsletters.
Thank you!
