How to Purchase an Animal License

Mail your check or money order made payable to the City of Charlotte with a renewal notice if you have one along with any proof required or go in person to one of the following locations:

What are the Fees

Cat/Dog/Ferret under 1 year $10.00 Sterile $30.00 Fertile
Cat/Dog/Ferret 1yr. or older $10.00 Sterile $30.00 Fertile
Senior (62+) Sterile Free Fertile $30.00
3 Year Sterile Tag $25.00 (With proof of 3 year Rabies Vacination)

Sterile Discount Qualification

You can buy a license for $10.00 if you have proof that your pet is spayed or neutered. Proof can be either:
1) A signed statement from a veterinarian,or
2) Receipt for surgery from the Humane Society of Charlotte Spay/Neuter Clinic, or
3) receipt for a prepaid appointment for surgery at the Humane Society of Charlotte Spay/Neuter Clinic or a local veterinarian
4) If you are 62 years of age or older and your animal is spayed or neutered you qulify for "Senior Exemption" please return proof of age with your notice.

Remember failure to get license can result in fines for the owner of the Pet!
