Dear GCAA-Member Apartment Community Staff:
As you know, there will be a referendum on the ballot this November that would rescind the City of Charlotte's 1/2 cent transportation tax.
Having received feedback from our apartment industry members and direction from our Board of Directors, the GCAA has decided to officially oppose the referendum. (A ''NO'' vote on this referendum is a vote to keep the 1/2-cent transportation tax in place.)
GCAA President Tim Hose notes, ''I URGE YOU TO NOTE ON YOUR CALENDARS NOW TO GO TO THE POLLS AND VOTE THIS NOVEMBER, AND MAKE SURE TO VOTE AGAINST REPEAL OF THE TRANSIT TAX. I cannot recall a more important issue in voters?’s control for quite some time in Charlotte. Please do your part.''
GCAA developed the flyer below for your residents in Charlotte. It explains the Tax Referendum issue and provides instructions for voting AGAINST the repeal. Click on the image to download a pdf file that you can print and share with your residents. Thanks for your help and support.
