Shred-it and CMPD Host Community Shredding Events During Tax Season - April 16 and April 28



CHARLOTTE ?– Shred-it Charlotte (www.shredit.com), which specializes in providing secure on-site document destruction, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) are teaming up to host free identity theft awareness and community shredding events during tax season in April. Shred-it employees and police officers will be on hand April 16 and April 28 to accept personal documents that people want destroyed in Shred-it?’s secure on-site mobile shredders and answer questions about identity theft.



On Monday, April 16 from 4-8 p.m., Shred-it and CMPD representatives will be hosting a Tax Day shredding and identity theft awareness event at the Post Office parking lot at 6300 Carmel Road.



On Saturday, April 28, Shred-it, Office Depot and Crime Stoppers USA are joining forces to help Americans combat identity theft by hosting Community Shred events across the country as part of the 2007 USA National Community Shred campaign. The Charlotte-area shredding events will take place at the following Office Depot locations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28:
