City Launches Foreclosure Resource Center Web Site
A web site containing foreclosures resources and referrals is available for individuals and families facing foreclosure in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The site will be updated as additional resources become available. The growing number of housing foreclosures is a major issue nationally and locally. Between 2000 and 2007, the number of foreclosure filings in Charlotte-Mecklenburg increased 244 percent, from 2,311 to 7,943 filings. It is estimated that approximately 50 percent of all local foreclosure filings have resulted in the loss of a home.
