The Charlotte City Council holds a public hearing on the Manager's Recommended Budget on Monday, May 12th at 7:00 PM at the Government Center, 600 East 4th Street in the Council Chambers, only 3 blocks from the Convention Center Lynx light rail station. Please come and voice your opinion on the budget.
Important Affordable Housing Bond Information The Manager's Recommended Budget includes $10 million for the 2008 bond referendum. The Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board request is for $30 million. It is important to receive this full amount without taking much needed funding from Neighborhood Improvements. Our affordable housing needs have never been greater. With the challenges related to foreclosures and the growing problems related to homelessness, we must have the resources to meet our growing needs.
