Pets are safest in the rear seat, away from the driver. According to AAA survey pets and loose objects are the third worse distraction for drivers.
In the rear seat a pet is protected from the windshield and airbags.
Pets should be restrained in a pet cage secured with a seat belt or in a pet harness.
Anyway I know our community is full of pet owners and thought I would pass it along.
Also according to the Humane Society you should never allow your pet to stick its head out the window. It exposes the pet to dirt, debris, and cold air.
