Not sure if this would be interest to you or not.   I know you have one street light down and across from you.  The area is a little dark at night.  You could request an individual street light be added to the pole by your driveway.  The info is below.   There is no cost to you for having this done.  You can follow the directions below, or call 311 and get the ball rolling.  If you decide to do this you can let Ken Davis our new President know so he can followup up on the progress.  You can email him at Madisonparkhoa@hotmail.com.

If the process works like it is suppose to it should take 2 or 3 months.   However sometimes it is a bit slower than advertised by the city.  Anyway it might help with your specific issues.   I know you said the same thing happened in your driveway in Jan.   In order to do this you will need 100% in favor all directions 75 feet from the pole.  If interested you might measure the support of the other homes prior to starting the process.   Probably your home and 3 maybe 4 other homes immediately around the pole, but remember it requires 100% of them in favor.  If you have someone against it you can perhaps request a different pole or new pole at a different position to get the 100% favor, but I am thinking the one at your drive would work best.

Individual Streetlight Request

Overview
Residents may request a single streetlight be installed near their home. The standard installation includes a high pressure sodium fixture mounted on a wooden utility pole. If other streetlights are present on the street or in the neighborhood, the addition of an individual light must be of the same type as those existing. The streetlight is typically placed on the property line between your home and your neighbor. To start the process, contact the Streetlight Coordinator, Sandy Wise, via e-mail bkelly@ci.charlotte.nc.us.   A petition process is required, which the Streetlight Coordinator will explain to you.  Once a valid petition is received, the City of Charlotte will authorize Duke Power to install the light and the City will pay for the power to operate it.  Installation takes approximately six weeks.
