Maytag is recalling 1.6 million refrigerators. Some units have apparently caught on fire. Saw this story on WSOC channel 9 and thought I would post in case even of you have this product.
The affected refrigerators were manufactured in black, bisque, white and stainless steel. The recall includes the following model and serial numbers, printed on a label located on the top middle or left upper side of the refrigerator liner:
includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Admiral, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley brand side-by-side and top freezer refrigerators

The recalled refrigerators were sold nationwide from January 2001 through January 2004
