Wasting resources and money

Posted in: Madison Park

I am really tired of the busybodies in the neighborhood wasting time and resources of code enforcement. I have lived here for 5yrs. the same 2 vehicles on the side of my residence and in each case these vehicles are parked on cement, both are in running condition and are not out of compliance according to code enforcement. The current complaint is exactly the same as the one less than 60days ago. I spoke with kirkham young today about this latest 3/26/09 complaint. There will be no investigation and the complaint will be removed.  GROW UP people! With the state of the economy, unemployment rate and city and state budget constraints it would seem as a neighborhood association you should be part of the solution instead of the problem. Instead all I see are elitist control freaks who are not happy without chaos. Maybe you should have a meeting on what it means to be a real neighbor. This is an older established neighborhood, one founded out of and for middle class. If you are looking for stark uniformity, move to one of many upper class properties "if you can afford it and the dues". BE BIGGER THAN LITTLE THINGS! As I have stated before my doorbell works, I welcome all. I promise not to accost you.

I agree with you.  If there is no violation STOP putting them in.  I would not even known there was a complaint this time if you had not posted this post.  I have no knowledge of who is putting these in.....but Agree if Kirk checked it out and says it is OK then it is OK!  If it is being put in the system it is not now by this neighborhood association or HOA to my knowledge --and most likely is an individual or two.  I am saying this because it has not been discussed at any meetings recently by codes or anyone that has been in attendance at any monthly meetings.  The new board has not discussed it.

Bottom Line if there is not a any violation then there is No Need to put it in the system.  I assume if it continues that Kirk will just remove them anyway since he told you that yesterday.

Hopefully the person(s) that put it in this time will have left contact info so that Kirk can contact them and tell them there is no violations, or they will see the outcome posted on the cities code enforcement site of cases being investigated.

Maybe the person(s) will even read these post and STOP!

If the person(s) that put the complaint in this time reads this...I assure you if Kirk says it is OK then it is OK!  He is very good at his Job!

A little PS if you have your vehicles parked on concrete beside your home you went beyond what is even required for parking between houses.  The parking pads and driveway requirement only apply to front yards and side yards of corner houses.  Side yards on corners lots on side facing street,  because the City considers those homes to have two fronts to anyone reading this that might wonder the difference.
