Subject: CPCC launches "Resources for Changing Times" web page
As unemployment rates increase across the region, CPCC is pleased to announce the launch of a new "Resources for Changing Times" web page - www.cpcc.edu/changingcareers. The site is a "one-stop shop" for local residents interested in pursuing a career change, connecting users to "fast-track" careers, opportunities in the area's burgeoning energy sector, and CPCC and community resources that will allow them to successfully transition into growth industries.
The web page's main feature is its "Jobs in Demand" link. Here, visitors are connected to the College's in-demand degree and certification programs - more than 130-strong - that can be completed within 15-18 months. The "Jobs in Demand" link also provides helpful information on the area's energy industry, an emerging field in the Charlotte metro area. Visitors can learn about the College's Center for Sustainability, non-destructive examination and electrical engineering programs and connect to leading area employers that need individuals with these valuable skills.
In addition, the site links visitors to a variety of useful resources such as the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, Workforce Development Board's JobLink Centers and Career Transitions and Outplacement Services that offer financial resources for educational pursuits.
Visitors will also have access to College resources, including information that gives visitors access to information on the College, including our six campus locations throughout Mecklenburg County.
The site encourages visitors to access specific program websites for more information, or to call the CPCC or CCE customer service numbers.
