NOMINATIONS to City Boards and Commissions
| City Council will make nominations to City Boards and Commissions on June 22nd. If you are interested in these volunteer opportunities, I encourage you to apply and be involved in our City. Please let me know when you have applied so I can nominate you on June 22nd.. Open appointments are: Business Expansion Funding Corporation One appointment for a representative for a 3 year term ending April 30, 2012. Time commitment: 2 hours/quarterly. Citizens' Review Board Three appointments, must be electors of Mecklenburg County and be graduates of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Dept. Citizens' Academy. Time commitment: 1-2 hours/month. Meets 2nd and 4th Tuesday as needed. Historic District Commission One appointment for a Dilworth business owner beginning immediately and ending June 30, 2011. Time commitment: 10 hours/month. Meets 2nd Wednesday, 3:00 PM Historic Landmarks Two appointments for three year terms beginning July 17th. Time commitment: 10 hours/month. Meets 2nd Monday, 6:00 PM. Housing Appeals Board One appointment for a "City within a City" tenant beginning immediately and serving until December 2012. Time commitment: 2-3 hours/month. Meets 2nd Tuesday, 1:00 PM Passenger Vehicle for Hire Board One appointment for a person with a disability or representative of an organization working with residents with disabilities for 3 year term. Time commitment: 1-2 hours/month. Meets first Tuesday, 1:00 PM Applications are kept on file for one year. Please call Jeanne Peak, 704-336-7494 for further information.
