Susan Burgess appointed to Board of Trustees of National Housing Conference

Susan Burgess is proud and honored to be appointed to the National Housing Conference (NHC) Board of Trustees. The NHC is dedicated to ensuring that every American, regardless of income, has the opportunity to live in decent housing in a suitable neighborhood.

For more than 75 years, the nonprofit National Housing Conference (NHC) has been the United Voice for Housing. A membership drawn from every industry segment forms the foundation for NHC's broad, nonpartisan advocacy for national policies and legislation that promotes suitable housing in a safe, decent environment.

NHC's research affiliate, the Center for Housing Policy, specializes in developing solutions through research. In partnership with NHC and its members, the Center works to broaden understanding of the nation's housing challenges and to examine the impact of policies and programs developed to address these needs.

What They Do:

  • Convene members, stakeholders and others to improve coordination of diverse agendas and build consensus on key housing issues
  • Promote policies, programs and legislation that helps to provide affordable and suitable housing in a safe, decent environment
  • Research the affordable housing challenges facing America's working families, and explaining the impact on the social and economic well-being of these families and the community at large
  • Broaden the constituency base of those actively involved in the fight for quality affordable housing
  • Elevate national awareness concerning the importance of and need for decent, affordable housing
