I noticed we had some new bike signs up along Wedgewood and Fairbanks.  We don't have bike lanes along these streets.  I was curious as to what these signs denoted.

From Ken Tippette, CDOT’s bike guy…

It is correct that these are recommended bike routes.  The City’s bicycle plan recommended the signing of a network of bike routes to help cyclists find their way around the city along low traffic streets such as Wedgewood Drive, and avoid dangerous major arterials with high volumes and high speeds.  It is part of a broader network currently of about 100 miles, which includes bike lanes on some major streets, signed routes and connections to greenways.
