Curb It! Holiday Collection Schedule
December 21, 2009 – (Charlotte, NC) – ‘Tis the season to Curb It! To ensure efficient holiday garbage collection, Charlotte residents are reminded:
- Solid Waste Services will not collect residential garbage, recyclables, yard waste and bulky items on Friday, December 25.
- Friday customers will receive service on Saturday, December 26.
- Yard waste will not be collected December 26 – January 1
- Collection services, other than yard waste, will be provided on Friday, January 1.
Got extra garbage? Residents may place garbage outside the rollout cart for collection December 26 – January 1. Extra garbage must be bagged and placed beside (not on top) of the cart.
Beginning January 4, Solid Waste Services will collect natural Christmas trees as a part of the Curb It! yard waste collection program. Artificial trees must be scheduled for bulky item collection by calling 311or visiting http://curbit.charmeck.org. Residents are asked to remove decorations from all trees and place them curbside by 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.
Because the holidays generate lots of garbage, residents are also encouraged to recycle, including gift wrap and cardboard. For a list of items accepted in the Curb It! residential recycling collection program and directions on how to properly prepare recyclables, call 311 or visit http://curbit.charmeck.org.
