Does anyone know the story about this house or what should be happening to it?  It is the house that has obviously been ransacked - all the windows are broken, the front door is either gone or about to fall off and there is a sign posted to the effect that the house is unsafe.  It is an absolute eyesore.

I will send an e-mail to the code inspector and see if he has any info on it.  When he responds I will post the response.

I found this on the public records online!  Looks like Kirk Young is already working on it.   Bank can either repair or register and board the home as a boarded up structure for 6 months.  At the end of 6 months home per current city regulations must be secured and board removed.   If inspector Kirk has other details I will post them when he respond.  Based on what the housing code violations are the Bank will have to bring home up to codes.  This can take up to 1 year.

From Code violations on line!

Roberta states that the tenants that were there moved and tore up the house. she states that it needs to be boarded up because it could attract squatters.

11/18/09- I took a picture of the outside and I have also opened up a housing case and completed the inspection. I posted the home to keep out, unsafe. KY
12/01/09- I have a housing case open on this house and this home was abandoned. A bank will be taking over in a couple weeks, I will check back then. Closing case. kY

From the inspector just now.    You can reach him directly at kyoung@ci.charlotte.nc.us

Right now I have a housing case open and I am waiting for the title search to come back. After I get it, I will send a letter to have it boarded up and if they do not do so, I will do what I did before with Tyvola and get it contracted.   (1813 Tyvola is the home he is referencing in this response)...Good news that homes owner had been identified after over 2 years of searching by Codes and CMPD for the owner!  Word is the Tyvola home is to be returned to city code/housing standards in the near future.

I do have a case on it and that is why I have an unsafe sign out front. The police also know about it and we have been in contact about people trying to still get in the place and do damage to it.

I will keep you posted.
