Swim with Santa at Ray's Splash Planet
Get in the holiday spirit early and spend some quality time with the man himself – Santa Claus! Join him for a swim in the splash park this Friday, Dec. 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Be sure to bring your wish list. Santa will be available for photos. Please bring your own camera for pictures with Santa.

Park and Rec to Dedicate Newtown Memorial Playground
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, has constructed a playground at Park Road Park in memory of the students and staff lost in the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting in Newtown, Conn.
The one-of-kind playground was constructed in one week, and features a unique design inspired by students at Pinewood Elementary School in south Charlotte.
The playground will officially be dedicated on Dec. 11. Photos
