Charlotte Observer Endorses David Howard for Mayor

Posted in: Madison Park

I’m sorry to be emailing you on a holiday weekend, but this couldn’t wait. We’ve just received some incredibly exciting news – we’ve been endorsed by the Charlotte Observer!

Our whole team is thrilled and honored, and this endorsement couldn’t have come at a better time. With less than 10 days to go until Election Day, this surge of momentum is exactly what we need – and it’s important that we keep it going!

Please read the endorsement here, then be sure to share it with your friends and family. In these final days before the primary, getting the word out is going to be the name of the game.

Thanks in advance for helping us keep this exciting momentum going!

Go team!

David

“I couldn’t be more humbled by the endorsement of the Charlotte Observer Editorial Board. I know that our vision for the future of Charlotte is resonating with voters, and couldn’t be more proud to receive the endorsement of the Charlotte Observer Editorial Board, and to finish this primary out strong.

In a lot of ways, I am Charlotte’s story, from growing up in one of the roughest parts in the city off of West Boulevard, to having a successful career at a non-profit, to helping lead important discussion and action on Charlotte’s most pressing issues, to being poised to lead this great city forward. I couldn’t be more energized by the support I’ve received from across Charlotte, from people like former Mayors Harvey Gantt and Eddie Knox, to the Charlotte Black Political Caucus, to former Chairman of Bank of America Hugh McColl, and now the Charlotte Observer Editorial Board.”

As the past president of Madison Park David Howard gets my personal endorsement as the Democratic Candidate for the Mayor of the City of Charlotte.

David was always responsive to issues and concerns in Madison Park when I was president.   He took time to actually come out and drive the neighborhood to see things like the excessive height of the radio tower that use to extend 72 feet in the air on Farmbrook.  (He agreed with me, and was instrumental in getting that lowered to 40 feet which is all the ordinance allowed in Charlotte).   He also checked out planned sidewalks for the community, and many other things over the many years he has served as City Council @ large.   If you e-mailed him you knew you would get an answer.

He also always supported our National Night Out event with his wallet and attending meeetings of the HOA when he was able in the summer.

Although I like the other Democratic Candidates I personally Think the City of Charlotte would be best off with David severing as our Mayor.  He has a great understanding of what the City of Charlotte does and how to get it done.

I encourage our Democratic neighbors as a resident of Madison Park to Vote for David during early voting now, or on Sept. 15, 2015.  He is deserving of your votes.

Martin
