County Wins Distinguished Budget Award

The Mecklenburg County Budget Office has earned another honor to add to its collection of many awards.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has once again presented Mecklenburg County with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for Fiscal Year 2015-2016.
In order to receive this award, a governmental entity is required to publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications medium.
“Although the County has a lengthy track record of receiving this annual award, we do not take it lightly and we pause each year to celebrate this accomplishment,” said Michael Bryant, budget director.
