CMS confirmed today(9/7/17) to Ruth Tansill that Madison Central Park is available for neighborhood use without a fee or formal application.
Took some digging but Thanks to City of Charlotte providing letter of use from 2011 Madison Central Park Grant, and then me reaching out to the former Principal Trish Sexton. along with Ruth's persistence the park is now available for use by the neighborhood residents.
School should always be informed at Pinewood of dates. Always consider including students and families in any event. School has priority during day and weekends. If they have no events then it is open.
The good thing is there is no user fee for residents and no application required.
The parks future use was paid for with Sweat Equity.
Glad this all got worked out. Thanks Ruth for staying on top of the issue.
The park was never intended to be for just the use for Madison Park HOA. The intended use was the neighborhood. The HOA simply did the work and signed the grant to make the park available to the school and community. When I say HOA Stacy Raynor and Lisa Charde wrote the grant. I monitored it and signed the contract as preisdent during the time of that grant. 100's of reisdents, teachers, and principal all volunteered on Park work days
Use of the Park does not include free use of the school or those grounds. However as in the past the school loves volunteers to help with the school gardens. You can reach out to the schools office to find out about those needs.
