Happy Earth Day!
Thanks to all who came to the Madison Park Recycles Event yesterday at the Madison Central Park. The day was beautiful and the attendance was strong.
I owe a debt of gratitude to some special folks. Thanks to Doug Welton and his son, Elaine and Rick Aldridge, Marty Doss, Jennifer DeLorn, Kara and Conrad West for volunteering and supporting the many tasks that made the event run. Thanks to the Madison Park neighbors who allowed me to post a promotional sign in their "prime real estate" lawn locations for this last week.
The event couldn't have happened without the generosity of the sponsor, Office Depot for funding the printing needs and shredding truck. It was fun to expand the event in it's second year and have the Sheriff Department, Crown Town Compost, Goodwill Industries, and TreesCharlotte as participating partners also. There are tree seedlings available if anyone would like a tree. Let me know. It's a Hickory Tree.
