Spectrum Seems To Be Working A Scam

This was also something I noticed mys self twice now this year.

About 6 months ago I called Spectrum to inquire about dropping the boring movie channels on my account.    I was told, "you have a great deal even with the new $20 increase taking your bill to $194.00.   If you drop the movie channels you will have to pay $256 a month and you will nog have movies!"   I thought what a scam.

Then today I found this article online.    Same little scam on customers.

What is worse though less than 6 months after the first increase of $20 bucks they have raised my bill $21 more dollars?    I called again and this time was told I could cut the movies, but my bill this time would be $225.00.   This would be about $10 bucks higher than my new latest increase.

My neighbor 2 doors down called to inquire about dropping her phone line.  She was told her bill would be even more than it is now if she drops her land line.

BEWARE of Spectrum.

My conclusion is that the long term customers are paying for the discounts for the new customers.    When I said this to CS she said well you had your discount when you signed up.  I said actually NO!  I never signed up for Spectrum it was Time Warner.

Not only are they high the services are poor.  Pbone never works properly and techs can't seel to repair it.

Bye Bye Spectrum,

I am dumping you again you big rip off.  Enough with your silliness.

AT&T just came a knocking and I am getting a much better deal.

$300 for switching, movie channels, phone and internet.   Pretty much exactly what I wish to watch for a heck of a lot less money.    24 month lock in.

Kevin Mchenry is from Utah and is working our area as an AT&T representative.  .

He said if anyone else is interested in switching give him a shout at 801-628-3267.

A very nice guy and helpful.  Said he normally works in their call center in Utah.

A little update.  The crew working Charlotte is with New Star a preferred AT&T dealer.  I ran into and issue when I started getting emails out of AT&T over night.  The one with the real issue was there was two 49.50 charges plus taxes and fees for install of internet and phone.   My order form reflected nothing but a one time 19.99 charge and everything else had been crossed out.   New Star customer service tried with 4 different AT&T folks to get this straightened out.    On a 3 way call with CS AT&T out of Chicago and a Rep for New Star it was decided it would be best to cancel the order.

What you can do though is go to AT&T and do your own packages and get all the pricing at the lowest price and prepare the order yourself.     The AT&T Rep said it was the lowest pricing available to customers if you handle it yourself online.   It was very simple and clear as to what you are paying for on the site.    You also still get their gift cards for switching.

Anyway anyone switching good luck.   I know there are other neighbors that are over Spectrum and their billing increases because I have heard from you.   Hopefully this will help save you some money for at least a while.
